BOSTON -- A Brookline native who rose to be a star tennis player at Boston College is featured on a new line of sports drinks that were rolled out across the country, according to Wicked Local Brookline.

Cynthia Tow, who is currently the assistant coach of BC’s women’s tennis team, was tapped by sports drink maker owater for a new campaign that features images of inspiring U.S. athletes, both professional and amateur.

An image of Tow going up for a serve is displayed on new owater labels, along with a description of her life story. The picture will also appear on promotional materials and on the company’s Web site, which will detail her accomplishments as a player and coach.

The sports drinks are available at stores nationwide, including locally at Stop & Shop, Shaw’s and Whole Foods, Wicked Local Brookline reported.

Tow was one of the most successful players in BC's history, racking up 125 singles wins over her four-year career, which included leading the team in singles wins all four years, according to the school's Web site. She was ranked 66th in the country by the governing body of collegiate tennis and won several singles titles while at BC, including the Brown University Invitational, Harvard University Invitational, and Princeton University Invitational.

Tow also earned a Juris Doctor degree from Northeastern University School of Law in May of 2005 and has worked as a legal intern, judicial intern, and law clerk at firms in Massachusetts over the past two years, according to the school.

owater is an independently-owned company based in Concord, Massachusetts.
