Woman Killed In Crash After Police Chase
Driver Of One Car May Be Facing Charges

BROOKLINE, Mass. -- A 23-year-old Hyde Park woman was killed in a crash Tuesday night after a car chased by Brookline police struck her head-on on the Jamaicaway. The driver of the car survived and may be charged with vehicular homicide.
NewsCenter 5's Gail Huff reported that the two Brookline police officers had attempted to stop a driver of a BMW on Route 9 for a routine traffic violation about 10 p.m. when he sped off. They pursued him, activating their cruiser's blue lights.The driver, identified as John Rudolf, 22, of Sudbury, Mass., crossed the median strip on the Jamaicaway, barelling into oncoming traffic and hitting the driver of a Honda head-on. She was pronounced dead at the scene.A 21-year-old passenger in her car was rushed to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Rudolf was able to climb out a car window but was immediately handcuffed and taken to Brigham and Women's Hospital where he received medical treatment.
