Eight Yarmouth firefighters were hospitalized after a Level 3 hazardous materials incident at a cranberry bog Friday about noon.

The fire department was releasing few details about the nature of the incident on Nob Hill Road, except to say it involved fertilizer.

Along with the eight who were sent to Cape Cod Hospital, another 23 had to be decontaminated.

No names and no cause were immediately released.
