An 85-year-old man allegedly struck a pedestrian in Revere Thursday night after hitting a parked car.

Michele Veneziano, of Lynn, was driving on Revere Beach Boulevard shortly after 8:30 p.m. when he struck Edward Regan with his mini van, police said.

Regan, who was getting out of a parked car, was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital with serious injuries.

Prior to the incident, police said Veneziano sideswiped a car and kept driving.

Veneziano was charged with leaving the scene of an accident that involved property damage and negligent operation.
