Several area beaches have been closed to swimming on Thursday.

BEACH CLOSED FOR BIRDS
According to the Department of Conservation and Recreation, Tenean Beach in Dorchester, Carson Beach in South Boston and parts of Wollaston Beach are off limits to swimming.

The DCR does water testing in four points at Wollaston Beach in Quincy. Wollaston Beach at Milton Road and Channing Street are closed, but Wollaston Beach at Rice Road and Sachem Street are safe for swimming, the DCR said.

Water test results are expected Thursday for Quincy's smaller, city-run beaches. As of July 2, only Quincy's Chickatawbut Beach was off limits to swimming.
