NEW BEDFORD, Mass. -- A New Bedford teen has been ordered held without bail after pleading not guilty to killing a young mother in a shooting outside his home. Seventeen-year-old Erick Cournoyer is accused of killing 18-year-old Bianca Maria Rosado on Wednesday night and wounding her boyfriend, 17-year-old Victor Camacho. Camacho was treated and released at a local hospital. Cournoyer was arrested Thursday and arraigned Friday. Several of Rosado’s family members and friends were present in the courtroom as he was charged with the slaying.“I saw (Rosado) grow up,” said a man who identified himself as Rosado’s cousin. “She was a good girl, she had a little baby and the (expletive deleted) that did it – he’s going to pay (for) what he did.” Police haven't released a motive, but told The Standard-Times of New Bedford they don't think it's gang related. Rosado graduated from New Bedford High School last month. In her yearbook, she said her happiest times were when she was with "Victor Camacho and our son."“She’s gone now, but she left something good behind,” said Rosado’s cousin. “That’s all that matters.” It was the fourth homicide in New Bedford in less than three weeks.
