BOSTON -- Bad weather has forced the Navy to scrap a Blue Angel photo shoot over the USS Constitution in Boston on Wednesday. The Federal Aviation Administration had approved seven Blue Angels F-18 fighter jets accompanied by a C-130 transport plane to fly over the vessel at 1,000 feet.On Wednesday morning, the Boston flyover was canceled. It has not been rescheduled, according to Lt. Paul Brawley.Even though the flyover was called off, Brawley said there are still other events scheduled for this weekend in Boston."There is a lot going on. This is the fifth annual Navy Week in conjunction with Harbor Fest. The Constitution is our focal point this year in the Charlestown Navy Yard. The ship is open for free public tours," Brawley said.Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Jim Peters said Wednesday the Navy's aerial demonstration team now plans to depart from North Kingstown, R.I., and fly over the Naval War College in Newport, before heading to Binghamton, N.Y., for a planned appearance. Federal authorities were criticized in April when there was no public announcement before a New York City flight to update official photos of Air Force One and its fighter escort. Some panicked viewers were reminded of the 2001 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in Manhattan.
