The kittens, dubbed "Grease" and "Monkey," were found on a porch in Boston's Mattapan neighborhood by a Good Samaritan who brought them to the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals in Boston. The kittens, two females estimated to be about three months old, are currently receiving daily baths to slowly remove the possibly toxic material as they shed patches of fur. The MSPCA believes the oil and grease has been on the kittens for some time, making the removal difficult. The MSPCA’s Law Enforcement department is requesting that any witnesses come forward to help determine if their injuries were intentionally caused or may have been an accident. The MSPCA’s eight Law Enforcement officers annually investigate an average of 3,000 allegations of animal cruelty throughout Massachusetts.Animal cruelty is a felony in Massachusetts punishable by up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $2,500. Anyone with information about Grease and Monkey or to report another case of animal cruelty is asked to call the MSPCA’s Law Enforcement department at 617-522-6008 or 800-628-5808. You May Also Like:
