BOSTON -- The Norfolk County District Attorney's office said Wednesday that the smoldering body found in the Blue Hills Reservation in Quincy on Saturday is that of a Plymouth woman. "The Medical Examiner's Office was able to positively identify Kristyn L. Genereux, of Plymouth, Mass., born June 2, 1967," District Attorney William Keating said Wednesday.Investigators said the body was severely burned, but they were able to identify the woman using rings that were found on the body.A pear-shaped diamond solitaire was on the victim's ring finger of their left hand, and a 10-karat gold band with several small stones, possibly a wedding band, was found on the pinky finger of that hand. The third ring found had three round stones in heart-shaped settings -- a ruby, an emerald in the center and a pink tourmaline -- and is often called a "Mother's Ring."Genereux has four children, Keating said. The medical examiner has also not yet ruled on a cause or manner of death, but police said that accelerant was used to burn the body, officials said.Genereux's body was found at 3:45 p.m. in the Quincy section of the reservation by a hiker who called police.Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Massachusetts State Police at 508-820-2121.
