Teacher Battling Cancer Gets Pink Slip

MANCHESTER, N.H. -- A Manchester teacher battling leukemia may be one of 78 teachers to lose her job.Sarah Robator took a leave of absence from her first grade class at Smyth Road Elementary School.She said the district called her in her hospital bed to tell her to expect a pink slip. Robator is one of the newer teachers in the district and understands why she is getting cut. But Robator hoped to have a job to motivate her through chemotherapy treatments.Earlier this month, the school board voted to layoff 78 teachers.Robator said she is determined to fight the leukemia. The district said right now it doesn't look like they are making any changes to the way they distributed pink slips.
