Sergeant Pet Care Products provided the following statement to Team 5 Investigates

"As the EPA continues to update its list of scrutinized flea and tick control products, it's clear this is an industry-wide issue that affects both over-the-counter products and products sold through veterinarians as well.

Sergeant's works with the EPA on a continuous basis and welcomes the EPA's increased evaluation of the use of spot-on pesticides to better protect pets. The health and safety of pets is Sergeant's number one priority.

We take our responsibility to make products that consumers can trust very seriously. We engage in extensive testing before any product hits the market and are always evaluating and looking for ways to improve our products.

In fact, we recently improved versions of several squeeze-ons, including Sergeant's Gold Squeeze-On for Dogs and Sentry Pro XFC by adding ingredients to protect sensitive skin.

We are pleased to see the EPA reminding consumers to always carefully read and follow label instructions to minimize incidents caused by product misuse."
