A life-size paper image of Jesus covering his eyes has been anonymously glued to the parking lot wall of Premier Video on Lund’s Corner in New Bedford, the New Bedford Standard Times reported.

Since the image appeared on the wall sometime last weekend, it has drawn attention from crowds who have gathered to take pictures, bring flowers and candles and pray.

Building owner Robert Machado told the Standard Times he has no intention of removing the image. The businesses inside the building have seen a slight increase in customers, Machado said.

There is evidence that someone may have tried to peel the edge of the painting off the white brick wall, but the Standard Times reported the general consensus among the people who viewed the image is that it is a beautiful masterpiece that should be preserved.
