LOS ANGELES -- Boston Celtics player Gabe Pruitt was arrested Thursday morning in California on suspicion of operating a car under the influence, police said. Officer April Harding said Pruitt, 22, was pulled over in Hollywood shortly after 3 a.m. Thursday and later booked on suspicion of misdemeanor driving under the influence.“I sincerely apologize for my actions which have caused unnecessary embarrassment to my family, my team, and the Celtics organization. I used poor judgment and I am really disappointed in myself," Pruitt said in a statement.Pruitt, who is a guard with the team, had his bail set at $5,000."I understand what an extraordinary opportunity it is to play in the NBA and how fortunate I am to be a member of the Celtics," Pruitt said.Pruitt, who went to college at USC in Los Angeles, scored three points Wednesday night in the Celtics' 93-91 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers."I am sorry to my team, my family, the fans and everyone who believes in me. I made a mistake and I have learned a valuable lesson," Pruitt said.
