The family of a man killed when a vehicle crashed into the cab in which he was a passenger is looking for answers -- nearly two years after a fatal Somerville crash.

Two people were killed in the crash, and another person was badly injured.

"We want the autopsy. My brother and his wife desperately want to get closure with the information. It hasn't been forthcoming," said Greg Farris, the victim's uncle.

Paul Farris was killed on May 27, 2007. The Tufts grad and his girlfriend, Katelyn Hoyt, were passengers in the cab. She survived the crash. The cab driver, Walid Chahine, was killed.

The cab was hit by a speeding sport utility vehicle that was chased by state police. The SUV's driver is awaiting trial.

"For 21 months, I've been nothing but respectful of everybody. The D.A.'s office has been nice. Everyone is nice, but no one seems to care. At this point, I am down to two things -- either they just don't care, it’s not important and that's not good for you guys -- or they are covering something up in that accident report," Farris said.

A spokesman for the Middlesex District Attorney Gerry Leone said that they are surprised by the criticism and plan to give all the information they legally can to the concerned family members.

Hoyt spent months at Massachusetts General Hospital. Her family is expected to file a civil lawsuit -- something the Farris family never planned to do.

"They are going to force us to move to the civil legal system just to get the information we should have had a long time ago," Farris said.

Leone's office said that there are legal restrictions about what information can be released.
