A Sherborn horse owner arrived home from the gym to find her horse in the icy water of her pool.

Spider, an 11-year-old American Paint, fell into the pool after it escaped from a barn and wandered onto the mesh pool cover at a home on 45 Everett Street in Sherborn on Wednesday.

Firefighters decided to cut the pool cover further and break up the icy water to lead the horse out of the pool, according to the MetroWest Daily News.

The horse's owner, Wendy Lewis, said the gate to the barn could not be closed because of snow.

The horse suffered a few cuts near its hooves but did not suffer any major injuries other than being cold.
