An investigation by the Massachusetts State Police shows no fault on behalf of an Everett police officer in connection with a crash that claimed the life of a bicyclist.

The crash between Officer Paul Giardina and Reda Rouf, 19, happened on Sept. 16, 2008, in Everett at the corner of Ferry and Glendale streets. The cyclist died a few days later as a result of his injuries.

Giardina was responding to an emergency call with lights and sirens and driving at about 20-25 mph, police said, when the cyclist hit the left front of the police cruiser.
