Cause Of Collision Under Investigation

BOSTON -- A high school student was killed and another person is missing after a late Monday night crash in Southborough.
1 Dead, 1 Missing After CrashJamoan James, 18, was killed when the Dodge Intrepid he was in hit at tree on Southville Road at about 11 p.m. Monday."When the officers arrived, they observed two males who were trapped inside the vehicle. But after they conducted their initial investigation, it was revealed that there were in fact two men seen wandering in the area," Southborough Police Chief Jane Moran said.Diego Mauro, 21, was taken to UMass-Memorial Medical Center in Worcester where he remains in critical condition, the MetroWest Daily News reported. Another passenger, Errol Moses, 17, of Framingham, was taken to the MetroWest Medical Center's Framingham Union campus with neck injuries.Police are searching for a fourth man who was in a car. Witnesses said the man ran into the woods.It is unclear who was driving the car at the time of the crash. The car was registered to James."He was a great guy," the victim's best friend Kirubel Solomon said. " I am very sorry. I'm losing words right now. I feel sorry for his family."Police shut down nearby commuter rail trains and used dogs to search, but found nothing."Our initial concern was that this person was injured, and we conducted an extensive search with the help of the State Police K9 officer. We tracked the scent for about a mile down the railroad tracks into the town of Ashland," Moran said.Police think the other person was picked up by another motorist.
