The Navy's newest warship will be arriving on Boston on Friday and will be open to the public for tours this weekend.

The USS Freedom will be docked next to the USS Constitution at the Charlestown Navy Yard.

The ship is the Navy's first littoral combat ship, meaning it is designed for coastal missions with a focus on high-speed maneuverability and agility. The Freedom was commissioned in November.

The ship will be open for free public tours at the Charlestown Navy Yard on Saturday and Sunday from 12:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m.

No bags, weapons, drinking containers will be allowed on the ship, but small purses and cameras are permitted. All adults must have photo identification and they may be searched. The ship is not handicapped accessible.
