The 16-year-old's name is not being released because she is still a juvenile. She is a student at South Community High School.

Authorities said she will be arraigned Tuesday morning in Central District Court and she could be charged as an adult.

The girl was living on Henderson Avenue, with her son, whose name was Kyle.

Emergency crews were called to the house about 11 a.m. Sunday where the teen said she found the baby unresponsive and not breathing in his crib. They found the child suffering from an apparent respiratory and cardiac arrest.

Crews performed CPR and later took the toddler to St. Vincent Hospital, where he was pronounced dead about 50 minutes later.

An autopsy was performed at the University of Massachusetts Memorial Medical Center and preliminary results indicated Sudden Infant Death Syndrome was not a factor in the baby's death.

The boy had been sick and police alleged the frustrated teenager killed the child. A relative called 911.
