Officials say Franklin Park Zoo's oldest gorilla has come down with an upset stomach, according to the Boston Herald.

Gigi, a 36-year-old lowland gorilla, has been taken off exhibit so she can be treated by veterinarians, a spokesman for Zoo New England, David Hirschberg, told the Herald.

Gigi, who is the oldest of the zoo’s seven gorillas, is eating normally and her attitude appears normal, according to Dr. Hayley Weston Murphy, Zoo New England director of veterinary services. But she has shown signs of poor digestion and has not responded as well as vets would like, the paper reports.

Officials may perform a more thorough exam in the next few days.

Gigi was born in Cincinnati in 1972 and exhibited at Stone Zoo until 1989. She has lived in the Tropical Forest at Franklin Park Zoo since then.
