Men Accused Of Stealing Fire Hydrant

22-Year-Old Arrested, Accused Of Threatening Witness

Three men were accused of stealing a fire hydrant in Brighton on Monday night.

Police were called to 321 Summit Ave. shortly before 7 p.m. Witnesses said that they saw the men with the hydrant, and when one witness said he was going to call police, one of the men allegedly threatened him and told him to mind his own business.

Officers questioned the men, who admitted taking the hydrant, according to police. The men said that they found it lying in the middle of the sidewalk and that they were just moving it.

A witnesses pointed to the man who allegedly threatened him. When questioned by police, the man allegedly said, "I threatened him. He told me he was going to call the police," according to officials.

Officers arrested Joshua Kolinsky, 22, of Westford, and charged him with willful and malicious destruction of property and intimidating a witness.
