BOSTON -- A local beagle trained to sniff out bedbugs will appear Saturday on a show on Animal Planet, according to SouthCoastToday.com.Tracer and owner Mike Tache, of Mattapoisett, will appear on "Dogs 101" to demonstrate how dogs can be trained to find bedbugs in hotels, college dorms, private homes, schools and businesses.Tache, who rescued Tracer from an animal shelter in Kentucky, runs a business called American K9 Private Investigators and said his services are in high demand. He said that bedbug infestation is becoming a problem around the country and that the sprays used by exterminators do not always clear infested areas. One solution to kill the bedbugs is to use heat. The show will air at 8 p.m. and 11 p.m.
