Four Fitchburg students were taken to the hospital after taking prescription medicine at school on Tuesday.

A nurse became concerned about four juniors at Montachusett Regional Vocational Technical School at about 11 a.m.

Officials said they had apparently taken a friend's medication for ADHD -- attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.

Fitchburg fire officials said the students did not suffer any injuries and walked to the ambulances, but were taken to the hospital as a precaution.

Police are still investigating the matter. The school's superintendent said the students may face disciplinary action.
