Thursday detectives arrested one man and seized cocaine and marijuana worth $2.6 million on the street. They said they confiscated 13 kilograms, or about 29 pounds, worth of drugs from a home at 32 Brookledge St., in the city's Dorchester neighborhood.

"It's the largest amount of cocaine I've seen in my 17 years," said Sgt. Detective Daniel Linsky.

Robert Lee, 54, was arrested and charged with drug trafficking. Officers said they found most of the drugs stashed inside a file cabinet inside the house. Some of it was hidden inside a secret compartment behind the drawers.

"The occupant had indicated to us that he had hoped he could get somebody to sell that for him while he was in custody and maybe make bail money," Linsky said.

Three pounds of marijuana was confiscated, as well as drug paraphernalia, bricks of cocaine and crack cocaine.

"We feel that this gentleman has been distributing significant amounts of cocaine on the streets of Grove Hall for a period of time," Linsky said.

Officers said that while they were inside the house conducting their investigation, customers were continuing to arrive at the back door of the house to purchase drugs.

"People coming to purchase several ounces of cocaine. They came with thousands of dollars ready to deal and buy multiple ounces. They came to buy quarter ounces of cocaine. We had three individuals show up with $150 that were trying to buy an 8-ball of cocaine," Linsky said.

Several more arrests were made and others are pending. Police said the investigation has been on-going for two months and is expected to continue.

Lee is scheduled to be arraigned Friday morning.
