Police: Shoplifter Tries To Run Over Security Guards

No Injuries Reported In Incident

A Quincy woman was arrested Sunday after allegedly shoplifting and trying to run over security guards in Braintree.

Linda A. Lambiase, 36, tried to steal six items of clothing from KMart on Grossman Drive on Sunday afternoon, police said.

Police said that when store security officers approached her vehicle from behind, she backed up, the Patriot Ledger reported. The woman narrowly missed hitting the officers and two senior citizens, police said.

The woman threw the clothing from her car window as she left, police said.

The woman was arrested a short time later and was charged with shoplifting, second offense, and assault with a dangerous weapon, her car.
