BOSTON -- The Coast Guard rescued three teenagers Thursday after they drifted from their boat near Barnstable, Mass.

Boaters React To RescueThe two girls and one boy jumped from their boat to swim, but then got caught in a current.
The father of one of the girls, the operator of the boat, jumped in after them with lifejackets when he realized they were in distress.The man's other daughter was still aboard and called 911 who relayed the call to Coast Guard Sector Southeastern New England in Woods Hole, Mass.The sector diverted a nearby helicopter from Air Station Cape Cod and 47-foot motor lifeboat from Station Cape Cod Canal which both arrived on scene at 2:50 p.m. and located the four people in the water.The helicopter crew hoisted the three youths and transported them to Air Station Cape Cod.The man was able to swim safely back to his boat."The motor lifeboat crew stayed on scene with the boat and escorted them back to the pier," said Petty Officer First Class Steven Kent, operations specialist at Sector Southeastern New England.
