Northbridge police want to talk to anyone who may have information about an incident at Lookout Rock that left a 9-year-old girl seriously injured.

Madison Bruneau's eye socket was shattered, bone fragments lodged in her brain and her retinal nerve nearly shattered on Saturday when she was struck by an unknown object while hiking with her father on Saturday.

The incident happened at about 4:24 p.m. in the wooded area off Quaker Street in Northbridge. The area is part of the Blackstone River Valley National Heritage Corridor and is adjacent to the West Hill Dam Recreation Area. Local residents often refer to it as Lookout Rock.

Bruneau underwent surgery and is recovering at home.

The Northbridge Police Department is asking the public's assistance in trying to resolve the incident. Anyone with any information or anyone who may have been in the area at the time was urged to call the Northbridge Police Department at 508-234-6211.
