A woman was attacked by another woman with a high-heeled shoe and a pint glass in a Nantucket bar over the weekend, according to the Cape Cod Times.

Laurie Ray, 36, faced charges Monday of mayhem and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon with intent to maim or disfigure.

Nantucket police said that Ray assaulted the victim, a co-worker, at Chin's Way bar early Sunday morning after several work-related arguments, the newspaper reported.

Ray allegedly struck the woman in the face with a pint glass and then assaulted her with a high-heeled shoe when the victim fell to the ground, police said. The victim will be permanently scarred, the Times reported.

The defendant's husband, Mark Ray, was also charged with assault and battery after a witness saw him assault his wife at the entrance to the bar, police said.
