The Acushnet Fire Department said wires were down in the Lake Street area. Large hail was reported by the National Weather Service in the town.

A resident who lives near Route 105 and Main Street told NewsCenter 5 that her husband said he saw a funnel cloud just after 4:30 p.m.

"We saw coin-sized hail and trees down," said Mary Emsley.

Storm Team 5 meteorologist Dick Albert said the Weather Service would investigate to determine if a tornado had hit the area.

The Weather Service said it had reports of a "micro-burst" in the Bridgewater area, where trees were reported down on Oak Street and in the area of the state prison complex.

Boats capsized near Eastham and Wellfleet.

In Mattapoisset, the police department reported that trees and wires were down in the town. On the Cape, trees were reported down in Barnstable, Eastham, Sandwich and Orleans.

In Welfleet, 6 inches of water flooded Route 6 and other streets in the downtown area.
