Three consecutive water tests have come clean in Pembroke, but residents are still under a boil water order.

Residents have had to boil water for more than a week after E. coli was found in the system. The water tested clean on Friday, but the boil order was kept in place. The town said the water system needs to be flushed out.

A boil-water order has been lifted in Dudley after E. coli bacteria was found in the water last week, town officials said. Dudley town officials issued the order Friday after the water tested positive for the bacteria.

Meanwhile, the village of Manchaug, near Sutton, has also been under a boil-water order for more than a week following an E. coli contamination in its water supply. Authorities identified the source of the contamination as a sanitary seal missing from new pipes that were installed in June, according to the Worcester Telegram.

Last week, residents of South Hadley and parts of Granby were advised on Thursday to boil tap water for at least one minute to kill bacteria and other organisms before using it, or use bottled water. Chlorine is being added to the system.
