BOSTON -- Two Colorado men made a stop in Massachusetts this week during their 12,000-mile cross-country road trip on a golf cart.So far, Andy Raney and Jeremy Make have made stops in Phoenix, Los Cruces, N.M., Austin, Texas, Houston, New Orleans and Atlanta during their trip.Make said they have had a lot of reaction from other drivers.
"(Drivers have said) everything from 'Get off the road' to 'What are you doing?' to 'How fast does that go?' There's a lot of yelling because it's very loud," Make said. The golf cart is modified with a gas engine that gets 35 miles per gallon."It has parts from every year -- a Honda steering wheel, grate from a house to get our exhaust out, it's a hand-built car," Raney said. The cart has a horn, windshield wipers and lights, and it's fully registered and legal. The two are shooting a documentary about art and keeping a video blog of their encounters. They hope to be home in Colorado by the first week of September.
