Clark Rockefeller, the man accused of kidnapping his daughter in Boston, continues to be a person of interest in the unsolved disappearance of a California couple.

Watch Report

NewsCenter 5's Liz Brunner reported that Jonathon and Linda Sohus disappeared in 1985 and a man known as Christopher Chichester, who lived on the Sohus property, also disappeared.

Dan Banks is a San Marino, Calif., resident and was a member of the Church of Our Savior in the 1980s. Banks said he knew Chichester to be a smooth talker, who was way too interested in his daughter.

"I asked her, "what's going on?' And she says, 'I don't know. I don't want to talk to him.' So the following Sunday, I confronted him. I got between them and I said, 'Chris, you are no longer going to be making contact with my daughter,'" Banks said.

Corey Woods remembers Chichester joining her family for Christmas dinner and even asking her out even though she was just 11.

"I believe he called my mother the next day and asked if he could take me to the movies, and my mother said absolutely not. And that was the last thing I remember about him," Woods said.

Chichester and Rockefeller are the talk of the small town since Rockefeller was arrested in Baltimore on charges of kidnapping his 7-year-old daughter.

Authorities said Rockefeller's fingerprints match those of Chichester, who lived in the guest house owned by John and Linda Sohus, and that the same man may be responsible for their disappearance in 1985.

Nine years after the couple disappeared, bones believed to be that of John Sohus were found in their back yard as the new owners were digging a swimming pool.
