Massachusetts police lifted an Amber Alert Monday for a young girl believed snatched from a Boston street by her father, saying they believe the girl is in New York state, but they are continuing to search for the child.

Investigators said Reigh Rockefeller, 7, was allegedly abducted by her father, Clark Rockefeller, during a supervised parental visit in the city's Back Bay neighborhood on Sunday.

Officers issued an Amber Alert following the girl's disappearance Sunday, saying they believed the child might be in danger.

Reigh Rockefeller was visiting with her father about 12:45 p.m. Sunday when he allegedly grabbed the child and jumped into a waiting SUV.

A social worker who was supervising the visit, tried to grab onto the vehicle, described as a black SUV with a Red Sox license plate and numerous Red Sox stickers on the rear window.

Clark Rockefeller was described in the Amber Alert as being a white male in his 50s, about 5 feet 6 inches tall and 170 pounds with thinning blond hair, and was last seen wearing khaki pants and a blue Izod shirt.

The girl has blond hair and blue eyes, is about 4 feet tall and weighs about 50 pounds. She was last seen wearing a pink and white sundress with red shoes.

Detectives have set up a search command post at Boston's posh Four Seasons hotel, where the girl and her mother were staying after flying to Boston from London for the visit.

Officers said the child was walking up Marlborough Street with Rockefeller toward the Public Garden when the abduction took place.

An arrest warrant was issued for Rockefeller on charges of custodial kidnapping, assault and battery and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Police said the male social worker supervising the visit was injured when he chased and grabbed onto Rockefeller's SUV and was dragged a short distance.

Anyone with information is urged to call 617-343-4328.
