Museum's Water-Themed Restrooms Rank In Top 10

BOSTON -- A local museum is in the running for having America's Best Public Restroom.Smith College Museum of Art's restrooms rank among the top 10 finalists. The Northampton museum features restrooms that are water-themed with hand-painted tiles and etched glass panels depicting sea creatures.Other finalists include a restaurant restroom in Pittsburg that has a one-way mirror above the urinals, enabling patrons to monitor the 50 high-definition televisions in the bar and a museum restroom in Kentucky that has LCD screens with traveling images of eyes built into mirror above the sink.
The public is invited to vote online through July 31 for America's Best Restroom. The site, BestRestroom.com, gives visitors a photographic tour of each restroom. The winner will be announced in August.Cintas Corp. created the Best Restroom award in 2002 to honor businesses across America that place high value on hygiene and exceptional style in their public restrooms.Previous winners have included restrooms at Notre Dame University, the Grand Casino in Biloxi, Miss., Kohler Art Center in Sheboygan, Wis., the Fort Smith, Arkansas Airport, Wendell’s Restaurant in Westerville, Ohio and, in 2007, Jungle Jim’s International Market in Fairfield, Ohio.Web: Vote For Best Restroom
