A woman was found dead in her car in the parking lot of Honey Dew Donuts Wednesday, 17 hours after a doughnut store employee saw her park the car, police said.

The Daily News of Newburyport reported the 35-year-old woman ordered a coffee from the drive-through at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, but drove past the window and parked in front of the store without picking the coffee up, according to an employee.

The car was still parked there at 6 p.m., but no one called police.

The manager of a nearby eatery reported the woman slumped over the wheel of the car at 7:15 a.m. the next day.

Police said she did not appear to be the victim of foul play.
