WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- A head-on collision left one man dead and another critically injured Friday afternoon, police said.

The Berkshire Eagle reported that a Chevrolet Tahoe driven by Albert E. Dickenson, 45, of North Attleboro, Mass., left the northbound lane on Route 7 and struck Thomas Peckham, 31, of Pittsfield, Mass., who was driving his 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche.

The Jaws of Life were used to get both drivers out of their vehicles, the newspaper reported.

Dickinson was killed in the accident.

Two passengers in Dickinson’s vehicle were not hurt.
