FITCHBURG, Mass. -- A Boston man was shot and killed late Thursday night in Fitchburg, the Worcester County District Attorney's office said.Nelson Ortega, 32, was shot in the head shortly before 11 p.m. in a crowded neighborhood, where people were celebrating the Fourth of July, the District Attorney's office said.A second Boston man, Ryan J. O’Neill, 19, was shot in the back and injured. He was in critical condition at the University of Massachusetts Medial Center in Worcester.
The District Attorney’s Office said the victims were known to Boston-area police.
