Woman Dies Of Gunshot Wound At Hospital

Other Victim Drove Pair To Emergency Room

Boston police say two people suffering from gunshot wounds got themselves to Carney Hospital early Wednesday morning, and then one of them died from her injuries.

Officerd said they got to the hospital about 2:39 a.m., responding to a call of a person shot.

They were told two victims had checked themselves into the hospital with gunshot wounds.

One victim was a 27-year-old black male suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the arm.

The second victim was a 28-year-old black female who suffered a gunshot wound to the chest. She succumbed to her injury and later died, police said.

Officers believe that the original incident occurred in the area of 115 River Street in Mattapan and the male victim drove them to the hospital.

Police will protect the identity of those who wish to remain anonymous.
