The jury who will decide if a British man killed his wife and baby daughter in the family's Hopkinton home adjourned Tuesday without reaching a verdict after their first day of deliberations.

Entwistle Jury Adjourns Without Verdict

After five hours of deliberations, the jury requested a copy of the 14-page printout of activity on Entwistle's Toshiba Equium laptop computer from Jan. 20, 2006. That was the day his wife, Rachel, and their 9-month-old daughter were killed.

During the trial, a computer expert testified that Entwistle checked his e-mail about 12:30 p.m. that day, about 90 minutes after Entwistle told police he discovered the bodies.

The defense said Entwistle was using the computer only for job searches that day.

The jury was not sequestered, but was warned to stay away from any news reports about criminal cases.

"Simply avoid any articles that discuss any criminal cases, or anything involving the criminal justice system," Judge Diane Kottmyer said.

The jury will resume deliberations at 9 a.m. Wednesday.
