BOSTON -- A woman found stabbed multiple times in a Brighton home may have been an aide to a blind man.
Woman's Body Found In HomeNewsCenter 5's Todd Kazakiewich reported that police have charged Luis A. Marquez, 26, of Brighton, with the fatal stabbing of a 56-year-old woman on Tuesday afternoon inside an apartment on Nonantum Street.Police did not immediately release the identity of the woman, whose body was found at about 2:30 p.m."The woman was found inside," Boston police Deputy Superintendent Thomas Lee said. "(The man) was on scene when the police arrived."Investigators remained at the scene through the late evening, but they have offered few clues as to the motive, Kazakiewich reported. Although police have not commented on the relationship between the victim and the man, they said the incident is not random."I'm not going to comment on the exact circumstances in this case, it's too early in the investigation," Lee said.Neighbors told NewsCenter 5 that they suspected something was wrong when they saw Marquez -- who is blind -- walking aimlessly in the middle of the street, shortly before police arrived."I just saw him standing over there in front of the bush. He looked a little disoriented with his cane between the curb and the sidewalk," said Jean Woods, a neighbor.Neighbors told NewsCenter 5 the victim may have been an aide to Marquez, whom they described as fairly low-key."He's lived there for quite a few years. He's been very quiet," Woods said. "The only time I ever saw him was if he walked the dog."A car was also towed from the home, but police did not immediately specify whether it was connected to the investigation.
