Vandals went on a reckless spree in the North End early Sunday morning, smashing in the windows of eight cars parked along the street.

NewsCenter 5’s Jim Morelli reported someone with stick, a bat or a pole went up and down Charter Street smashing vehicles just after midnight, leaving the street littered with pebbles of glass.

“This happens all the time with these young kids that are coming over. They have a beer or two after a game, and if the local teams lose they get upset,” said North End resident Freddy Petrino.

Amber Lanczki has had her vehicle vandalized twice in recent months, including Sunday morning.

“It’s a beautiful day outside today. I was coming down to lie in the sun, and I found my car like this,” she said.

The vandals didn’t take anything from Lanczki’s car.

Boston police described the suspect as a white male who was seen riding in a tan vehicle.
