A Boston firefighter was arrested in an undercover Boston police operation and charged with soliciting prostitution.

Collin M. Herelle, 44, of Dorchester, offered an officer disguised as a prostitute $29 for a sex act, Boston police said.

Police were running the undercover operation in a public parking lot near Blue Hill Avenue and La Grange Place Friday night.

Herelle was charged by police with soliciting sex for a fee. His car, a 2004 Cadillac wagon, was seized, said Eddy Chrispin, a Boston police spokesman. Herelle will be arraigned Tuesday in Roxbury District Court.

Herelle has been a Boston firefighter for six years and records show that he earned nearly $98,000 last year, The Boston Globe reported.

Five other men were arrested in the sweep, dubbed "Operation Squeeze" by Boston police.
