Students at Tantasqua Regional High School allegedly caught staging a senior prank have been suspended from school and banned from senior activities next week, according to the Worcester Telegram and Gazette.

Police in Sturbridge responded to two incidents involving 12 students early Monday morning on school grounds. Principal Steven B. Bliss said the students were trying to dump inflatable toys and floating toy ducks into a pond on school grounds.

The students were released into the custody of their parents, and were suspended from school for the week, which is exam week. Bliss said that the group would have to take their test at an alternate time. The group was also banned from senior activities -- including a field trip.

The students will be allowed to participate in the June 1 graduation.

The principal said that he was taking the matter seriously because local police were tied up unnecessarily dealing with the antics.
