Police: Man Beaten To Death Leaving Party

NORWOOD, Mass. -- A man was beaten to death during an argument outside of a party Friday night, police said.

Police said Scott Haynes, 39, of Middleborough, was with a friend when they stopped at a party being thrown by Kevin Schultz, 26.

Police said Haynes and Schultz got into a fight when Haynes was leaving the party.

Schultz struck Haynes several times in the head and left him motionless in the street, according to police.

Haynes was taken to Norwood Hospital and then to Brigham and Women's where he was pronounced dead.

Police arrested Schultz who will be arraigned Monday in Dedham District Court, according to the Norfolk District Attorney.
