A Westford couple is offering a reward after a Mother's Day gift was vandalized.

Karen and Randy Knowles said that someone spraypainted their tapestry stone that sits on the couple's property at 152 Plain Road, according to the Lowell Sun. The large stone, which is worth about $800, is engraved with roses and the couple's wedding date.

Karen Knowles said that she noticed that someone spraypainted the number "42" on the stone. She said that a teen told her that it might be a pop-culture reference to marijuana, the newspaper reported.

The Knowles are offering a $1,000 reward for information about anyone who may have vandalized the rock.

The couple may not have been the only people targeted. Someone also spraypainted a building on Brookside Road.
