Jury selection is scheduled to begin today in the trial of a man accused of strangling a former Milton High cheerleader.

Prosecutors allege that Rodrick Taylor killed Dominique Samuels, 19, in April of 2006, because she spurned his sexual advances. Samuels was a 2004 graduate of Milton High and captain of the cheerleading squad.

She and had been taking liberal arts courses at Quincy College, working at Old Navy and living in a rooming house on Woodbine Street for several months before she died.

The victim's body was later set on fire with the aid of an accelerant and dumped in a wooded area of Franklin Park.
