A college student from West Roxbury claims she was threatened by a sorority after she changed her mind about joining the group.

The 19-year old said she decided against joining Phi Epsilon at New York's Hofstra University in Hempstead, N.Y., after intense hazing that involved sitting in the same position for seven hours with other pledges.

Courtney Holt told the New York Post that she was stalked after quitting the pledge process and said the Phi Epsilon wasn't "a sorority, it's a cult."

She also told the paper she wasn't looking forward to the sorority's initiation ritual that she said involved branding in the groin area with a hot fork.

She claimed one sorority member slammed her head into a wall and threatened to slit her throat.

Holt said she filed a police report, then left Hofstra in fear for her life. A university spokeswoman said it would take time for the school to investigate the allegations.
