The man, who was not identified, drove the scooter to the Eastham shopping plaza near the bus stop, but when he returned at about 2 p.m. from shopping, the scooter was gone, the newspaper reported.

He reported the crime to a local TD Banknorth branch, where workers called police.

Anyone with any information was urged to call Eastham police.
