A 60-year-old Marshfield man whose driver's license had been revoked for drunken driving was hit and killed as he rode his bicycle on Tuesday night, allegedly by a drunken driver.

Police said Gary Sanborn was riding his bike on Route 139 Tuesday night when he was hit by a pickup truck driven by Adrian MacKinnon, 44, of Marshfield.

Mackinnon was arrested and charged with motor vehicle homicide and arraigned on Wednesday. Police said he refused a breathalyzer and field sobriety tests, so his license was immediately suspended for 180 days.

Sanborn had not had a license since 1998, when he was arrested for his fourth drunken driving offense and it was revoked. He was sentenced to one year in jail for that offense, and his license was suspended indefinitely in 2002 for failure to pay child support, according to the Boston Globe.

He had been living with his mother and was a few blocks from her apartment when he was hit.

Mackinnon had no previous drunken driving charges.
