It appears the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority's crackdown on gropers who assault riders on subways and buses is working.

Transit police said they arrested William Crenshaw at the Dudley T station Sunday.

Police said they were patrolling the station when they overheard yelling coming from a bus and found two women yelling at a passenger and claiming he had touched one of them on the buttocks.

The alleged victim said she and a friend were waiting to exit the bus as it pulled into the station and said Crenshaw was facing her near the door.

She claimed he told her she "smelled nice," and when she thanked him, she said, he got angry and yelled at her. As she tried to exit, she said, he grabbed her.

Crenshaw was charged with indecent assault and battery and disorderly conduct, according to the MBTA.

MBTA police have arrested at least two people since launching a new public service campaign aimed at cracking down on sexual harassment on public transportation.
